Same old tune, different verse.... They need to start a BIG pump and "drain this swamp!" Congress weighs in: http://thehill.com/policy/transportation/308488-congress-rips-metro-over-falsified-reports-that-led-to-july-train Connolly, who emphasized he is supportive of unions, said there needs to be a trade off between good wages and good performance. He expressed frustration that Metro’s union helped overturn a decision to fire an employee who ran a red signal. Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 12/02/16 15:01 by hazegray. Sounds like he is unfamiliar with the concept of "Duty of Fair Representation" which places an obligation on union officers personally to represent all members to the best of their ability. They are not allowed to not represent or not advocate on behalf of any member, even if that member "ran a red signal". It's also lacking significant context. What was the decision to overturn based upon? Was there insufficient evidence that the employee actually passed a red signal? Was the contractual requirement regarding a fair hearing before disciplinary action complied with? Was there some type of intervening cause that prevented the employee from stopping before the red signal, such as a brake defect? It's easy to complain, it's harder to understand. I know that the Sarbanes Oxley certifications I signed as a minion carried personal liability. I hope the same is true here. If people falsified records that got other people killed that should have consequences.
