Passenger Trains > Texas Eagle number 22 rerouteDate: 01/09/17 08:47 Texas Eagle number 22 reroute Author: brbigelow On 22 this AM en route to Chicago. During the night we rerouted up the Illinois side of the Mississippi rather than the usual Poplar Bluff route due to scheduled track work. Arrived St Louis on time, but then had to wye the train along the riverfront due to facing west on arrival. Between this and usual station work, departed 90 minutes late for Chicago.
The crew stated this reroute is due to last about a week. Had not seen anything on TO about this. Anyone out there with additional info or corrections? I don't have any information on the reroute but it seems as if it was on the line where the Cotton Belt's "Morning Star" passenger train which operated. A number of years ago I rode a UP excursion behind 844- including a photo run-by near Gorham, Illinois- along the route the Texas Eagle apparently took on this occasion.
