Surprise find at Commerce, CA - SCAX 908

Spotted this shiny unit hidden alongside BNSF's Commerce Diesel Service in Commerce, CA late Tuesday afternoon. Presumably waiting ferry over to Metrolink's Keller Yard near Downtown LA for final delivery...

*wishing i took a pic of the 11/1957 built Southern RR gon it was coupled to now...

Could be worse, could have been patterned after one of those old 37 class locos in the UK

Looks like it's design was drawn with an ugly stick.  Soon I'll have to see it every day out the window and as I drive around town.  The duct tape with "SCAX 908" was an added touch.  Mr MRL, thanks for the visual warning.  I'll borrow Perseus shield to look at it.

The antidote for ugly locomotives--what my wife calls "engines with proper noses.

1)  Amtrak 18, with all-Santa Fe equipment, Sept. 1971 at Winslow, Arizona (back before the Eagles made the town famous)

2)  UP 942 at Orange Empire Ry. Museum in Perris CA.  Not only does OERM have this beatiful EMD, we have some UP passenger cars to match.

       And no reason they couldn't build modern passenger locomotives today with that beautiful EMD bulldog nose and body style.

It shares a lot of mechanical DNA with the UK class 68's.
