Some of you don't like a list of late trains, it must mean I hate Amtrak. So here's a list of early trains, that must mean I love Amtrak? Kind of a boring list if you ask me and not a very useful, but that's what you'll get from now on.

We want information on why these trains were early!

A list of how late Amtrak trains were (Or how early) is not very useful period.  It's not like we can change anything with that information.

If you don't want to be accused of hating Amtrak, then don't focus on Amtrak with these reports, and compare all areas of the operation (Not just how late or early things are).  There are a lot of passenger operations in the USA, the vast vast majority of which are government funded.  Just telling us what Amtrak trains are late (and how late) serves no purpose except to deride Amtrak.  By just looking at Amtrak, and by just focusing on the negatives of their operation, you're just as bad as the politicians who drag Amtrak out as an example of "Government waste" because they require a billion dollars in subsidies, yet ignore the airlines and commuter operations which require far more.

If you want to deride Amtrak then you're going to get a lot of blowback from the membership of this site.  If you want to subjectively review Amtrak's operations it'll take far more than just reporting on late trains every day.  Either do it right, or don't do it at all.

I like the list of late trains. Keep it up.

I like the train performance into - late, early or whatever.  

Knowing the reason for lateness, if available, is nice to have.  

It's good to see some on time performance, whether due to better weather, padding, fewer freights, etc. etc.

Being early isn't always a good thing.

Twice in 2016, the Auto-Train was more than an hour early. In both Lorton and Sanford, we waited until the car loaders etc arrived and we were allowed to disembark. On one trip, the cafe remained open for coffee until we stopped.
