Does anyone have any Updates on Amtrak P42DC # 102 ? I know it's at Beach Grove, IN .

From another forum:
102 hit a rockslide October 5, 2015 on the southbound Vermonter. It went down into a ravine on its side. In February 2016 it is on a flatcar in Massachusetts. It was one of the last three with the original steel noses at the time of the incident. Began moving in freight service to Beech Grove during April 2016. Now stored there.
If it's been there almost a year, I'd be surprised to learn that any work is being done on it.

I drove by Beech Grove the other day and sitting in the front yard was #102.  It is a mess.  The entire left side is destroyed, as it the roof, and cab.  The right side is not as badly torn up, but badly damaged.  The only way to fix it as I see it, is to totally replace the shell.  Of course we don't know what is torn up on the inside.  I would guess they will Savage parts off it as they have done with #8.  Pretty sad to see.

...so many inaccuracies here which seems to be the theme lately,  and since i am not sure where to begin the corrections, i'll just say:  the 102 will live to operate another day despite your "sources" in the woods.
