What came first - the chi... I mean, the capsule or the Hyperloop track?

HTT - Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, HTT is the rival company to Hyperloop One, which is headed up by SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.  They

Nope. Not me.  I am too claustrophobic.

Not going to say wha it looks like...

Just wait till someone's E Cig/cell phone/laptop/head phones/etc (never mind intentional issues) decides to melt down and fill the cabin with smoke and fire. Not a lot of room to get away from the smoke till the thing stops at an exit point.

Well, you can't exactly open a window at 35,000 feet either.

I understand your point but they are going to have to figure a way to get people out quickly mid trip with little notice. If over land most planes can be on the ground in 10-15min in an emergency. How long would it take to get to an air lock that would allow exit?

the linked article is wrong... Musk only had the "idea" for  Hyperloop. He is not the head of Hyperloop One or HTT.

Musk released a White paper on the idea in 2013 to allow others to follow through on it as he has his hands full with Tesla and SpaceX.

And as posted elsewhere, his white paper lacked engineering expertise, so design changes are already being proposed. "It's really not hard" my ass. :-)

It's only "on paper," so like the computer graphics depicting CA HSR, I don't take them seriously.... but when selling a hype, you can't succeed unless it looks pretty.
