Passenger Trains > Rio Grande F40'sDate: 12/05/00 16:31 Rio Grande F40's Author: HoggerMatt Hi all,
When are the Rio Grande F40's leaving Chicago. I was told it was going to be tonight so I went to the Princeton, IL Amtrak Station to get pictures and video as it was would be stopped under the lights, but no engines. I met a lady who was part owner of the Sierra Hotel Private Car which was on the train right behind the engines. She was from Chicago and met the train at Princeton to pick up two people off of it and wave to her husband I believe. She said the ones on the train told her that four Rio Grande painted F40's were in the city. So I suppose they were in the Amtrak yard when they passed them leaving Union Station. Maybe tomorrow night. I was just wondering if anyone knew.
