Apparently the same as now. Los Angeles-Oakland and Eugene-Seattle only. No alternate transportation offered in between. Hand you the refund, tell you to get lost and don't bother them.

Has anyone thought that maybe all this "No alternate transportation" stuff is because Amtrak is getting so far behind paying the bus companies, that they won't send buses any more? Kind of like in 2001 when Warrington's people stonewalled on paying the fuel vendors and a bunch of Florida trains ran out of fuel?

I actually would prefer that to be the case, instead of it being because of a new, "go to h***" customer service policy at Amtrak.

Just found out that Hwy. 97 is closed from Klamath Falls to Chilliquin account fire. This is the Hwy. Amtrak busses use to bus bridge between Klamath Falls and Eugene. There is a detour around the fire by useing Hwy. 140 on the west side of Klamath Lake but am unsure if busses could use it.

Wow, what a mess. I JUST cleared these problems, too. I took 11 from SAC-LAX on 08-12, and 4 from LAX-FLG on 08-13 with minimal delay each trip. I hope that everything is taken care of in a safe and quick manner, and that the inconvenienced passengers and crews are okay!

Thought 2 sets of starLATES were north of the tunnel fire. Are they deadheading a set via OT or Chicago?

Deadheading via OT. Just because Amtrak requests busses for 400 passengers doesn't mean the bus companies can deliver.
