Wow…talk about a neglected looking locomotive.

More from nephew Kris Lane’s travels…the 3463 is on display at the Expocenter (fairgrounds), Topeka, Kansas. (Hopefully being restored by now, as these photos are two years old).

Reb, that's painful, seeing a Hudson in that condition. Then again, the NY Central scrapped all of theirs.

The 3463 has been the recipient of on-again-off-again restoration efforts. This was 3463 in 1990:

A group in the 90's fixed up the tender pretty well, and there was talk for a time of restoring the engine to operation. Unfortunately, from what I've read, the nickel-steel boiler wasn't fit for restoration. Too bad - not many examples of 84" drivers out there...
