Train time at La Paz Bolivia 1966
Author: photobob

The "International" is about to depart the station at La Paz, Bolivia. A little last minute chit chat is taking place before the gals board the narrow gauge train and head up the steep grade to the Altiplano. All is but a memory now as the trains are long gone and the station now serves as the bus depot. I remember it cost about twenty five cents to ride the train up to the El Alto Station behind double headed steam on the point and another locomotive shoving on the rear. Thank you Uncle Sam for the opportunity to have experienced this.

The human element is nice, it brings the image alive. What an amazing experience that trip must have been.

Is that a Ferrocarril La Paz Arica coach? Was the Chilean side FCALP?

FCALP is reopened, not sure what service is offered.
