Thinning(attempted) the herd in Japan
Author: DKay

A Japanese man woke up in a legless state after a big night on the booze that saw his limb severed below the knee by a train.

The government employee was drinking with friends in Kyushu's Saga Prefecture on Wednesday night when he passed out at a train station and is believed to have fallen onto the tracks, Japan Today reports.

Surprisingly the 50-year-old did not wake up from his alcohol-induced slumber and continued snoozing throughout the night, even as a train terminating at the station drove over his leg.

The train driver failed to notice his unsuspecting victim, who remained partially under the carriage for the duration of the evening.

The man woke the next morning and phoned emergency services, who sent an ambulance to take him to hospital

That don't sound right...

The weight of the train pressure sealed the wound.

Happened at JR Karatsu Station, which is about 40 km west of Hakata. The man lost his legs just below the knees. Found the report on several Japanese news media sites besides Japan Times.

That can indeed happen with a crushing/severing type injury. Very little blood loss, just brain cells.
