International Railroad Discussion > ex-BN SD40-2's to Brazil

While researching BN SD40-2 7251 this morning I see it went from BN to BNSF to FURX and then a rumor that it went to Brazil, then it seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. Does anyone have further information on this SD40-2 and any others that may have gone to Brazil? New numbers and any possible photos would be appreciated. Thanks!

It didn't show up in Chile. Our latest BNSF import is SD39 1918, x-ATSF 4018/1564. Will eventually be rebuilt for Fepasa. Came from Larry's Truck lot.

For this being Soccer season "Road To Brazil" sounds suitable for the green machines trip, sad to see them go but just happy they're going to a new home than going to the scrapper.

Many SD40's arrived in Brazil since 2003. Some were converted to narrow gauge on BB trucks. Other were spread out to broad gauge.I will look for pics of them in my PC and post here.

These were converted to narrow gauge on BB+BB trucks and rebuilt to dash 3. They are in 81xx series nowadays on VLI
