International Railroad Discussion > Project 6029: The Goulburn TrialsDate: 08/15/14 16:44 Project 6029: The Goulburn Trials Author: Milepost_130 Disappointed that an post made earlier today on this topic was deleted, Bevan Wall, the photographer, was contacted. Bevan referred us to the Project 6029 Blog, which contains all sorts of information and interesting images, including a link, there, to the wonderful video, recorded yesterday (August 14, 2014), of this locomotive making its maiden voyage since recently having been restored to service.
Project 6029 blog: http://blog.project6029.com/2014/08/goulburn-trials.html The locomotive is ex-New South Wales Government Railways 6029, 4-8-4+4-8-4 (Beyer Peacock / Manchester 7531 / 1953), Beyer-Garratt type, standard gauge, thought to be the largest serviceable steam locomotive in the southern hemisphere.
