I am wondering if any were preserved and if so are in operating condition. It would be nice to see one of them pulling a train if they are able to restore one.

These were the original DF class built by English Electric. It was under a cover at the yard of a scraper in south Auckland, but I have heard since that it has moved to the MOTAT museum. Others can fill in. J. Date: 10/20/14 00:15 Re: New Zealand Double Cab diesels Author: RogersPass J.Ferris Wrote:

Hi, No it is not at Motat, but has gone to Christchurch Ferrymead Museum about 2-3 years ago. I think they hope to get her running some day, but I have no idea when. Cheers Brian |
