Thanks Gerry.

Another two shots from today in the gloomy weather. The first train was only for the rare leader for where I live. The other train was a loaded welded rail train.

1. 1MP5 is in dynamic brake as it passes through the Adelaide suburb of Hawthorn with DL41 leading NR107, NR36, NR66 on 12/1/14. The train arrived at Tailem Bend with NR107 long hood leading after the original lead unit, NR36 had cab issues. DL41 would have been added as a banker for the run over the 2.2% grades but as a trailing unit normally. The DL's are a Clyde/EMD AT42C built in 1988-1989 with the numbers DL36-DL50. Internally they are pretty much an SD59 with the 3000hp 12-710.

2. Greentrains owned RTS/EMD AT36C-3 no. RL306 and Qube owned Clyde/EMD JT42C no. GML10 work 2M41 loaded ARTC (Track owner) welded rail train through Lynton on 12/1/14. The RL class were built by Rail Technical Services and there successor Gemco at Islington Workshops in South Australia from 2006-2010. They were built using rebuilt engines and other running gear from retired SD50's. The bogies were salvaged from scrapped Goodwin/Alco DL500G's and are equipped with GE 752 traction motors. GML10 was a one off JT42C built for Goldsworthy Mining in 1989 for use in the Pilbara. After having another three owners - BHP, Comalco/Rio Tinto Weipa, Queensland it was purchased by Qube. Mechanically and electrics it would be an SD59.

Cheers,
Justin
