Sakura and the Watarase
Author: Railpax71

The Watarase Railroad runs DMUs between Kiryu, Gunma, Japan and Mato, Tochigi. Very cold rainy weather today but I found trains at Mizunuma and Godo with Sakura in full bloom. The first three are at Mizunuma.

Next three are at Godo. I raced the train up the Watarase from Mizunuma to Godo.  Same railfans at Mizunuma were there waiting before me at Godo!

Really interesting pictures with all the blossoms.  In Picture #5, is that a railcar converted into a fixed building on the right?

It's a restaurant. Railpax71's earlier report below. He promised "more photo soon" and gave us some pretty flowers!

This thing called "work" kept me from doing the report on fall colors but Sakura made a nice excursion. On NHK TV tonight,  Hot Gunma 640 send a crew to Godo today to record several Watarase trains and those bright red blossoms--hana momo. Roads were a bit slickery as the temp declined from 70 to a high of 33.
