EMD of Brazil built two SD70ACe-BB demonstrators to offer to the narrow gauge railroads in the country. Units 8795 and 8796 are been tested with a GT46ACe demonstrator nearby the EMD plant in Sete Lagoas, MG. EMD offered the units to VLI railroad at first, but they can be tested in other narrow gauge railroads too.

Picture 3: a close on the cab and front trucks of unit 8795. These new trucks were developed by EMD to allow the SD70ACe to compete with the GE´s Dash 9´s that use BB trucks (BB40-9W´s) and are common seen on brazilian railroads.

Great shots!  Those trucks are an interesting design, very compact.

Pics taken from the pedestrian walkway at Vespasiano yard show the roof of the new SD70ACe-BB´s. Also,a picture that shows the size of them while compared with the old GE U20C´s.

Hi DK,
my area is served by dual gauge tracks because we have fca, Vale and VLI railroads on meter gauge (1,000mm) and MRS on broad gauge (1,600mm).

On August 25, I visited EMD plant in Sete Lagoas, Brazil. Among many interesting things seen there, I could do a cab ride in the new SD70ACe-BB Demonstrator 8795 in the yard inside the plant. Here it isa pic of me posing in the cab of 8796. The video of the cab ride can be seen in the link below

On your cab ride video, there appeared to be several G12 or G8 units in the background. Can you post some photos of them? Thank you.

Hi

No, those aren´t G12 or G8. EMD Brazil is producing three models nowadays: GT46ACe and SD70ACe-BB to meter gauge (1000mm) and SD70ACe/45 to broad gauge (1600mm). Here are some viwes ofa GT46ACe.

The GT46Ace is very nice. It has the same prime mover of a SD70ACe and also rated to 4,300 H.
