Date: 09/05/15 16:06 Re: Riding the Randen/Keifuku RR - Japan Author: cchan006 FYI, Keifuku Railroad is a sister railroad to Enoshima Railway, also known as "Enoden," covered various times here on Trainorders. "Arashi (嵐)"in Arashiyama (嵐山) means storm, and "Ran" is the shorter, alternate pronunciation for that kanji character, so Randen (嵐電) is probably a nickname for Keifuku Railroad's Arashiyama Line, the segment you covered in your fun video.
I see some interesting paint scheme or wrap for the Randen trains. The purple scheme was adopted by Enoden to commemorate the fact that they are sister railroads. Did you see any Randen trains in green and beige, the Enoden scheme? Great coverage of Kyoto's local railroad scene so far. Thanks for the video! |
