Bimbos on railroad tracks. Disgusting Australian ad
Author: mukinduri

This ad has been running during the Australian Open tennis tournament so I've seen it often.

Two sexy latex clad women are cruising along a country road when somehow their car stalls on a railroad crossing (only a couple of bimbos could be so stupid?) just before it's hit by an oncoming train. The message is that they should have had their car profesionally serviced by a company called Ultratune.

I can't find a pure link to the ad. It's worth watching to see how trains are portrayed as the ultimate objective danger for a motorist. The ad demeans both women and trains.

Scroll down on the page which the link below opens to where you see the two bimbos marching defiantly down the tracks with their smashed, flaming car in the background, as shown in this screenshot.

Hehe. Wish people take advertising less seriously. If ads use eye candy, then I enjoy the eye candy, and ignore the message. I'm sure the advertisers will get the message if their methods are ineffective. No need to feel disgusted, the event was staged!

Here's the ad in question.  I certainly have no problem with it, but then again I generally don't pick everything apart based on its political correctness compliance.  IMHO there's waaay too much of that going on now.

I love Australia, its society and culture.  If I could figure out a way to remove all the complications I'd probablty emigrate there in a heartbeat.

There was a true-to-life incident similar to this in Riverside, CA in 2007 that had fatal results.

Fortunately, the incident in the commercial had a happy ending.

Everybody likes a happy ending.  :)

Not bad, although I would have preferred they showed the women exiting the car before the train hit it.   The ad gives you the impression that they were struck by the train.

I am glad they made it out - guess they weren't as dumb as we were led to believe.

Thanks for posting the commercial.  Overall, it was enjoyable to watch!

Are there any more like this you can share?
