While staying in Delhi in early January 2016, I went to Faridabad for a day of railfanning.  I rode the Metro south from central Delhi to Faridabad, then rode back on a suburban train.   I was in Faridabad from about 11am to 330pm, and saw about 40 trains.   In the Delhi area in January there is a lot of fog in the morning, so this can inhibit photography before about 10am.  One aspect of the Indian Railway scheduling seems to be that there are a lot of northbound trains in the AM inbound to Delhi, so at Faridabad this meant that the majority of trains were coming out of the sun, which was not ideal.   Presumably this would be a better location in the afternoon in the summer (except for the heat).

Just curious....why both knuckle couplers and buffers?

Reminds me of the time I spent in Bombay (now Mumbai) back in the 80's.
..and the haze..............
