The Watarase Railway had every piece of equipment out today as there was a Hanamomo fair at the Godo station.  The sakura had peaked when I shot my previous pictures, but were good at Souri just a few hundred meters higher.

1, 15:40 train from Mato to Kiryu approaching Godo.
2, 14:20 Hanami special at Souri
3,  Railfans watching the scene near Mato

Awesome! First shot is exploding with color. Nice catch of the ex-JNR DE10 in action on your second shot.

Those railfans in your last shot are connoiseurs of another great Japanese tradition - onsen (hot springs bath).
