International Railroad Discussion > Beijing - Datong train questionDate: 05/23/16 20:59 Beijing - Datong train question Author: symph1 Does anyone have experience with non high-speed Chinese trains? I'm looking at train K 615 from Beijing to Datong. What are K trains like? We'd ride coach. For our destination, there's no need for a bed. Thanks.

than ours. The seating was 3-2. Hawkers came and went and some of the young people on board spoke english. Fares are cheap. Lack of english at the stations was a problem. I don't recall seeing any soldiers or authority figures on the train. Date: 05/24/16 20:40 Re: Beijing - Datong train question Author: symph1 ValvePilot Wrote:

Are hawkers the only food, or is there some kind of food service car, too? Date: 05/27/16 23:28 Re: Beijing - Datong train question Author: 86235 symph1 Wrote:

Try the Man at seat 61 website, he has descriptions of the different type of Chinese trains, what to expect etc. |
