Here are the Brill cars back in the day. We covered almost the entire system over two days in 2001 with charters. Some of the track couldn't even be seen. When one of the Brill's failed, we were stuck in a field for hours. While waiting, a local farmer offered up his teenage daughter to any American who would marry her to get her out of the country. I swear a true story. As one of the readers commented to the reporters story, socialism at it's best. Everything is equally crap.

Yes, just look at that crappy automobile in the front.  It's hard to believe anyone travels in ancient autos like that.

Excellent collection of photos of a railway that has long fascinated me.  Are the Brills still around and just not in use, or are they gone?  Does any freight service exist on the line?

In 1999 the scheduled service was in the hands of Spanish EMUs, the Brills were still in evidence for tourist operation
