Train Truck collision Australia

today in Victoria 

Locomotive hauliing passenger train 100 pax on board

no passenger fatalities but a dozen or more injured.... trucker seriously injured

Just listening to the Media's take on this (prime Ch7).As seems to be the way of things with the media these days....the train shouldnt have been there.

Train/vehicle collisions are no 'accidents', the vehicle driver is at fault. But try convincing the media of that-doesn't make good press.  "Train hits idiot driver" just doesn't have punch to it as 'p[oor innocent driver gets ass kicked by mean old train'.
Glad no one was killed, hope his wallet is deep.

I guess they were lucky it wasn't a VLocity DMU as the locomotive took the brunt of the impact

Have to say I didn't read it like that. The article says a truck hit a train, which suggests to me it was the truck's fault.
