Ferronor is currently moving 6 x 500 tonne loads of lime per month to Augusta Victoria in Chile under a contract for BHP-Billliton at Escondida
Some loads from San Antonio de las Cobres, others from Gumes. AV is 35km from the Escondida mine. Current branch to the mine (FCAB) only services acid transfer and the copper cathode facility. Will require site work to build additional sidings https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minera_Escondida

On the 14 August 12 ex Queensland GL26C-3 were landed in Puerto Angamos (Mejillones) for Ferronor's services into Argentina

A new copper mine at Taca Taca (alongside the line), around 70km east of the border is expected to come online late 2018. Initial expectation is 500k tonnes per annum to/from Antofagasta. International traffic will be exchanged between Ferronor and FCAB at O'Higgins, about 15km north of La Negra. Both companies own various sectors of the line O'Higgins-Socompa, will be operated as a JV
