Several railcars in the river on August 18,; tankcars loaded with chemicals. No injuries.

Sounds like a similar arrangement to the New South Wales railroad in Australia.I fully understand you comments regarding government bed wetters setting up comitties.After seeing the prompt response from Union Pacific on getting that bridge repaired on Cajon this past week,I mentioned to some American friends that if it had happened down our way,they would all be standing around scratching their ass,wondering what to do.....still!!

Or dial the clock back to 1983 and compare how long it took to open US highway 6 after the Thistle, UT landslide vs how long it took DRGW to repoen their mainline.

(and this comes from a guy who's been a professional bureaucrat for the last 27 years...)
