A never to be repeated event and whose organisers deserve a big cheer of congratulations.  I came down for the fireworks display on Saturday night after the Liverpool model railroad show.  It was a good time and there was foam puddles everywhere.

Also caught the Thirlmere units going back on Monday afternoon as they were leaving Goulburn.  They sure looked great on a sunny day.

Thanks for these beautiful photographs.  It is interesting to see how the basic EMD and ALCO styles were modified.  The large windows at the rear of the unit, must have made it much easier when hostling the engines.

With both the 44 & 421 class, the blunt end cabs were set up to lead trains in regular service (though not the preferred cab!) In the 42 & S class the small window was for hostling only

Unfortunately I didnt get any true side view shots.  However here's 3 that may give you an idea.
1. Rear of two 44 class locos - ALCO's with full working rear cab (double ended B class in the background)
2. Rear of 42101 - Clyde-EMD loco, again wiht full working rear cab.
3. Double ended bulldog! B61, another  Clyde-EMD product

I was priviliged to be there for a few hours on the Saturday morning.
It was a great show & the rev up & horns sure made a great noise.
Due to the locos being on roundhouse tracks, it was impossible to get good side shots.
The co-operation that the organisers received from the owning railroads in getting the streamliners to Goulburn for the display was amazing.

Cheers
