Bomb attack to Vale tracks in Brazil

On October 18, Vale mining broad gauge system called Carajas railroad (EFC) was paralized due to an explosion of dynamite under a bridge at Km 693, in Bom Jesus do Tocantins, PA near a reserve of natives. The explosion happened a few minutes after the passenger train cross the bridge. Since than, the traffic is closed on Vale EFC system. For while, the Army and police do not mention a terrorist attack.

That is some really nasty damage there!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you seen any more of the MRS Logisticas electric He 4-4's built by Stadler on the slope to Sao Paulo?
I knew that they ordered 14 of them-I think for their fleet of electrics.

The Brazilian Army, through the Communications Section of the 23th Infantry Brigade of Selva, confirmed late in the afternoon of Wednesday (19), which was found explosive device on a bridge of the Carajás railroad, the mining company Vale, which it is blocked by the company from late Tuesday morning (18), preventing the movement of freight trains and passenger.

Through a statement, the Brazilian Army reported that Vale was performing maintenance work on the railway bridge, located at the height of KM 693, in Maraba, São Luís sense, on the edge of Indigenous Mother Mary in Bom Jesus do Tocantins, in Tuesday afternoon, when artifacts were found with explosive material characteristics.

The 23rd Infantry Brigade Selva (23th Brigade Inf Sl), follows the position, received a request to assist in identifying possible explosive material found and, after triggered the competent bodies, trained military of the 23 Logistic Battalion Jungle - the Class of survey and Destruction mills Failed (TULEDEF) were sent in to "accompany and guide for insulation and other safety measures in the area, in order to avoid possible negative occurrences".

According to the press office, the only information that the company confirms is that the bridge has structural damage, but the causes are still being investigated, adding that the priority is to ensure the safety of rail operation.

Vale says the situation was perceived at the end of Tuesday morning and since then, all the company's efforts are towards recovery structure to thus circulation be normalized.
