Is the NSB shut down because of a blizzard ?
Author: DaveL

Have not seen a train at Finse, Norway since 05:30 PST.
By this time I should have seen 2, one East and One West.

It is Christmas Eve and Norway likes its holidays.

Search TO for 'Finse' and 'darkcloud' as the author for links where you can see what passenger and freight trains are running, usually with an explanation when they are not or are late.

I checked their website and there was only one train scheduled today each way, the early am departures. There are 2 trains each way tomorrow, the midday ones.

In Norway we have many holidays. This year christmas day fell on saturday. Normally most psgr trains tie up around 1700 so  demployees are home xmas eve. First xmas day they run a minimum of trains and it is  not until  the third day that full service is resumed. No freight trains on these days. The same will apply on the new  year weekend
