Best software for editing movies
Author: TV-10

I have taken a few videos (Quicktime movie format) and would like to edit parts of each movie. Nothing major, just cutting off the beginning and end a bit to shorten them. Any advice?

Basic editing of Quicktime movies can be enabled if you buy the Quicktime Pro key from Apple. It's a bargain at $29.99.

However there is a catch. If you're using an older version of Quicktime you'll have to upgrade to the latest version. The latest version installs iTunes whether you want it or not. However, iTunes is easily uninstalled. I think it's annoying that Apple forces the install when it should be optional. OTOH... Microsoft has been doing the same thing for years.
