Railfan Technology > George Elwood's websiteDate: 07/01/14 21:29 George Elwood's website Author: Castle_Romeo His site isn't reachable at the moment. I am wondering if he's OK....
Date: 07/02/14 08:57 Re: George Elwood's website Author: trainjunkie I can't reach it and according to http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com it is down.
BTW, the URL for his site is http://www.rr-fallenflags.org Date: 07/02/14 18:19 Re: George Elwood's website Author: Castle_Romeo I know the address. Is it DNS issues or something else?
Date: 07/02/14 18:36 Re: George Elwood's website Author: trainjunkie I included the address for others who may not know about it. Common courtesy when asking about a specific site is to include the URL. I don't know why it is down, only confirming that it appears to be down from any location FWIW.

When I do, its ;; ANSWER SECTION: rr-fallenflags.org. 70429 IN A 64.200.85.3 That server does not respond. whois has contact info for the name, which shows that George Ellwood owns it. It also gives email and phone contact for him. http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=rr-fallenflags.org. If someone knows him, maybe they can call at a decent hour. Returned "homeportal can't find rr-fallenflags.org Server failed.
Not a good sign. John Date: 07/03/14 00:14 Re: George Elwood's website -- a DDNS problem? Author: Margaret_SP_fan Do you guys know about this?
From TechWeek "Microsoft Cybercrime Shutdown Hit Users Says DDNS Provider" On July 1, 2014. by Thomas Brewster "Microsoft has gone on the offensive against a US company it believes provided services to Algerian and Kuwaiti nationals perpetrating a cybercrime campaign that hit millions. But the tech titan has apparently ruined the Internet for millions of other users in the process." Author: trainjunkie Margaret,
I read about that a couple days ago but as far as I know the DNS issues that were caused by that incident have since cleared up. Date: 07/03/14 18:38 Re: George Elwood's website -- a DDNS problem? Author: ACR_Ted From what I read on a Yahoo Groups list (Modern Freight Cars) he is moving the server to a different physical location for various reasons. Should be back up in a few days or weeks I gather.
