Railfan Technology > Shots from this morning using a level tripodDate: 07/26/14 07:57 Shots from this morning using a level tripod Author: PALuvR I got a couple of shots this morning using my tripod. It's pretty amazing how many unnoticed things that are out there to help in taking your pics. I saw a power pole that I usually have to crop out but never used it to level the camera. Also porch spindles on the house across the tracks. Y'all are just fantastic!!!!!!!
I also noticed this morning (by using these landmarks) that I do tend to hold the camera slightly lower on the right. Which is what the shot from yesterday of the SP/UP DPU's bears out. I really appreciate all the help. Now to start working on correcting some bad habits. Mike 1. Yesterday's "tilted camera" shot 2-3. Today's tripod shots Date: 07/26/14 10:33 Re: Shots from this morning using a level tripod Author: Super_C Be careful about using poles as vertical reference points. Not all poles are created equal :-)....nor are cantilever signal bridges!
