Sun angle calculator.

This sun angle calculator seems to be just what you need to figure out when is the best time to take a picture. I will be using it this weekend.

Been using the Photographer's Ephemeris for over a year now. Works as an overly of Google Earth, and has a mobile-phone based edition that you can use on the go without needing a laptop.

Another vote for Photographer's Ephemeris. Big step forwarding from the way I use to do it printing out tables from http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/AltAz.php versus RR alignment bearing.

Sucalc has a mobile app as well, and free to load.
