Railfan Technology > Battery compartment cleaning in portable scannerDate: 11/10/14 23:27 Battery compartment cleaning in portable scanner Author: rag I purchased an old Regency 1500, the other day that has had battery leakage problems. My question, is there any cleaner/neutralizer that could be used or should be used to fix it up? The unit uses 8 AA cells and it is unknown whether the leakage was from NiCad's or Alkaline.
Any help would be appreciated. Rich Date: 11/11/14 05:52 Re: Battery compartment cleaning in portable scanner Author: TrackOne Use disposable gloves, eye protection, vinegar, old tooth brush and cotton swabs.

Had both that and the predecessor, the HX1200. the 1500 LED eventually went out on mine, as well as plastic case cracking and generally worn out. went to another life as a parts scanner..but I loved it while I had it in operation!
I used both alkaline and ni-cads in mine. chico |
