Railfan Technology > Plustek 8200i SE Film Scanner

I just ordered this scanner. My Epson V500 is good but either every slide I ever took over 8 years is out of focus or this particular scanner just doesn't focus on my slides as good as it should, and I've tried the tricks with lifting the slide mount slightly off the glass and I even bought SilverFast SE 8 scanning software for it, with only marginally better results, sometimes! Yes, I already did a search on this forum about this, but I'd like to know anyone's opinion on this scanner thus far, if you haven't commented before or even if you have...

Its what I use with no issues. I would not use the Silverfast sw it comes with, purchase VueScan.

I use it also with VueScan. Does good work but not fast.

I'm in the same boat at you with the Epson scanner. My results can be anywhere from fantastic
to totally out of focus on perfectly focused slides.

I'd be interested in hearing how you like the Plustek once you get it up and running.
