60D Microphone

Looking for suggestions on a good external microphone to use when shooting trains on DSLR video with a Canon 60D. Thanks for any help!

I don't have a 60D but I do use Canon DSLRs. I have a Rode VideoMic (about 5 years old) with the DeadCat on it and it works well.

guessing that what you want IS an external mike, far removed
from the camera body and all of its noises. A 'dead cat'
seals the deal.

I have a Canon 7D Mark II, and use a Sennheiser ME66/K6 - Super-Cardioid Shotgun Mic Capsule
