New Replacement Video Camera
Author: CountryBoy

I have a GO PRO video camera that I like pretty well, that said I really don't like the fisheye perspective it gives. I'd like to find something comparable in a narrower perspective in the 2-4 hundred dollar range

Thanks

Is it a 3 or 4?  If so, there are several replacement lenses available, normal, and telephoto.  Look online.  That said, I have no knowledge of the quality of these lenses.

Also, save your money.  What video editing program do you use?  Adobe Premiere Pro CC has a filter that you can apply to the GoPro video footage that takes the fisheye perspective right out.  Check your video editing software to see if there is that filter available there as well.

GoPros are "action" cameras and really are one-trick ponies. No zoom, hard-to access controls and fixed focus. Great for lockdowns and special applications.
For video, I'd spend the money on a Sony or Canon or JVC camcorder. Much more versatile  and far easier to use.

I'm looking for something to use on either the control stand or mounted to the roof of my caboose (under construction) with my 7 1/2" gauge trains

Thanks
