https vs http login to TO
Author: Railpax71

If you log in as https://www.trainorders.com, the dunsmuir cam will not play because of access via http: reported as an error by the browser

If you sign in as http://www.trainorders.com, the home page never registers you have signed in but all the topic pages do.  Dunsmuir cam plays.

Why?

The https: - Dunsmuir camera problem does affect me. The http:- home page problem I cannot reproduce; it works fine. Can't explain it, though.

Another quirk.

http forum pages use phorum.css
https forum pages use trainorders.css

Not being critical and nit picking, but doing this all day long at work, I notice when the fonts are different which are controlled by these style sheets.

It might help us - and Todd - to know which browser (name and version). Browsers in general are moving to warnings about HTTP content, so our experience is likely to vary among browsers.

Both observations about Dunsmuir cam, login credentials, and stylesheets are consistent with Chrome and Safari.

You are correct, when you are logged in with Chrome it refuses to load mixed content where https requests an http.

I also use a number of browsers, but dimishing returns after the biggies are handled. Safari screenshot showing first http, and then https. (edited) Safari warning when click on Video to play on the Dunsmuir page.

https is a secure connection. http is a non secure connection.

I wonder if this has something to do with it?  Todd mentioned this in a thread a while back.  Maybe he is still working out SSL stuff?
