A few more from the C&TS
Author: jbwest

Three from the March 12-13 snow clearing charter on the C&TS, and trying to avoid duplicating prior posts on this subject.  The first is sunrise at Ferguson's trestle, the second just west of Big Horn, and finally approaching the big curve at MP 305.  More pix on Flickr  HERE .

I would never imagined that when I was helping save the railroad 46 years ago that I would still be seeing such fantastic images of what it used to look like when one worked out on the railroad long 16 hour days.  Those early morning shots are just amazing, and it warms my heart to see them. Thank you for sharing them. I feel proud to have helped run some of the work trains for CO-NM RR Authority.

Those of us who enjoy today's C&TS owe a huge debt of gratitude to the folks who saved the railroad way back when.  And to all the folks who have kept it running since then.  The fact the C&TS still exisits, still runs steam trains, and can recreate scenes from the DRGW over half a century later is amazing.  Both the professionsl railroaders who work for the C&TS and the volunteers with the Friends of the C&TS do great work.  I'll post one more picture, taken last September, also at Ferguson's that for me kind of summarizes the incredible ability of this railroad to recreate the past.
