Western Railroad Discussion > "God light" and a friendly wave in AlaskaDate: 07/28/16 13:28 "God light" and a friendly wave in Alaska Author: trainjunkie My wife and kids are visiting me in Alaska but since I had to work last night, and knowing my first move outside of the yard was to move the inbound Denali Star from the Anchorage Depot to the yard, my wife took the kids to nearby Elderberry Park to watch me go by. Depending on the length of the train, we usually stop alongside the park while we wait to get lined into the yard at CP 1140 before shoving back. Last night the sun peeked out of the clouds to spread a little "God light" over "Sleeping Lady", aka Mount Susitna, as we pulled the train by the park. I asked my wife to bring my camera and she snapped a few photos of me passing by. It was the first time my family ever got to see me "at work" and although it was about 9:20PM there was still some nice light for pictures. Cheers from Alaska!
