Eastern Railroad Discussion > When The Stars Align AgainDate: 09/21/18 14:02 When The Stars Align Again Author: Ohiorailfan Another one of those days today where it all worked out and couldn't ask for much more. It all started with me leaving my house around 1 am this morning and headed up to Garrett, Indiana to just relax and wait on the K182 with a pair of BCOL C40-8M's #4606 and #4604. The train left Garrett around 6am and would not hit daylight until Napanee. I then attempted to follow the train as far as my gas tank would allow. I ended up finishing the chase near Woodville, Indiana. I then went and got gas and recived a location update on the UP 1943. I headed back to the tracks and waited 5 minutes and the P900 with UP 1943 came around the corner at Woodville as a pocket of sunshine appeared. Quite a day!
Locations of K182 include: Napanee, east of Walkerton, Wellsboro, West Wellsboro, Suman, and Woodville Date: 09/21/18 14:03 Re: When The Stars Align Again Author: Ohiorailfan Date: 09/21/18 14:04 Re: When The Stars Align Again Author: Ohiorailfan Date: 09/21/18 14:05 Re: When The Stars Align Again Author: Ohiorailfan Date: 09/21/18 14:06 Re: When The Stars Align Again Author: Ohiorailfan Date: 09/21/18 14:50 Re: When The Stars Align Again Author: dschlegel Photo 12 is Image if the Day material, fantastic catch!

Date: 09/21/18 16:06 Re: When The Stars Align Again Author: hoggerdoug Odd, those BC Rail units were in pusher service the other day on Sandpatch, now they a leading a coal train. I think the BCOL units are being "collected" for retirement. So sad, I had many trip on BC Rail with those units. Doug

Number #1 gives it a serious run, but by far the last 2 shots of the UP 1943 are absolutely killer! That light... WOW! In my opinion you should earn one more IOTD out of this bunch...
Lance/199 Date: 09/22/18 18:51 Re: When The Stars Align Again Author: mttrainman1 Im pretty sure csx would not be collecting them for cn for retirement. I def can see them being good power to share with other railroads for horsepower hours. If they fail, they are not adversely affecting a cn train so it is a win-win for cn.

I've never seen them as tall as the locomotives. How long are they, and what't their capacity? Do they rock and roll with that kind of height?
