Passenger Trains > UP passenger special southbound near Dike

Already posted on the Western Board by z-trains and TheNavigator (nice shots guys), I too was out this morning for the deadhead UP passenger special on Cajon. Here is a shot of the UP 2743 and its seven cars just south of Dike (Devore, CA). As mentioned the train is eventually destined for Council Bluffs but, last I heard, was still holding in the yard at West Colton due to problems on the Yuma Sub.

While I appreciate the sentiment behind the full-height American flag wrap on the baggage car in the middle, the purist in me wishes they would repaint it back to regular colors now. It breaks up the visual lines of the train.

I'm with you Dave.   Locomotives too.  I'm as patriotic as the next guy but painting flags on things does not a patriot make.
