1) Laying concrete ties for the new Mud Track south of downtown Seattle, WA in June of 2006. This track, a storage track and three new mainlines will be cut over sometime in the 1st quarter of 2008.

2) As the ground crew waits their turn, a Hulcher foreman gives instructions to the sideboom operators as they work to rerail a BNSF covered hopper in Tacoma, WA on August 25, 2006. Supposedly, a new hire confused by another switch stand close by, had thrown a switch under the train!

3) On a clear January day in 2007, a BNSF Commuter Construction roadmaster takes a break from helping with a turnout installation in Seattle, WA as a Southbound train approaches.

4) A relief crew shows up at Everett, WA for the night shift after a derailment on November 20, 2006.

5) The fog is thick this August 2007 morning on BNSF's Scenic Subdivision, but there's rail to lay at the future Blue Ridge control point. Everybody is working safely within the rails of Main 1 as a Westbound train rolls by on Main 2.

6) Three hours later, the fog is gone and half the rail has been laid. Before the rest can go in, it has to be cut for an insulated joint.

7) The temporary surfacing crew foreman for the day watches as a 6700 tamper tamps up a new turnout just south of the yard at Auburn, WA at the new control point of Pacific in 2002.

8) BNSF Commuter Construction thermite welders pack a mold in Seattle, WA. The big project on the Seattle end is only four months along at this date.

9) A gandy takes a swing at an angle bar to help it seat nice and tight as the foreman runs the gas-powered impact gun back in April 2007 in Seattle, WA.

10) My only train shot for the contest: The Boeing Local's Brakeman and Conductor ride point at the start of the long shove up Boeing Hill in Mukilteo, WA. A very WIDE container obscures the trailing unit at the headend.

The last shot of the caboose.... notice how much the container "lists" to the one side...got another pic of it? almost as if it's about to fall off huh? I take it you are a trackie too? B. Reg. operator myself...nice pics. Take care and be SAFE!
