Gloomy weather....more storm photos
Author: Raylewis

Well just got back from my trip to AZ, and the weather is pretty crappy here in Bakersfield so I am playing around with the computer yet again. The first shot is taken of Amtrak #6 out near Thisbe, NV...maybe Wunotoo, NV? That is what my slide says, and I dont have any timetables with me so I guess Ill stick with that. Ray lewis

Amtrak in Snow
Author: Raylewis

Here is Amtrak #5 passing under the signal bridge at Soda Springs. You can barely see the bridge in this heavy snow. To make it worst there was a steady "breeze", with 50mph gusts that day. This shot looks REALLY rough on my screen. I dont get this whole slide scanner thing. When I get them all set up on my computer, and then view them they look fine, but then when I post them they look very distorted. With my digital camera, its opposite. They look fine on my computer, and then also fine when I post them on TO.....is there a difference?

Just outside of Luke AFB, on the spur track a crossbuck is framed by the typical monsoon lighting.

A shot of a westbound UP heading through the curve at Sandcut just before sunrise as the storm begins to produce some rain.

#6 in snow
Author: Raylewis

Here amtk #6 is about 1/2 mile track west of the signal bridge at Soda Springs. The snow stopped just long enough for the train to pass through the summit. Raylewis

Further west of the signal bridge at Soda Springs, BNSF train QSTDVJ is framed just before sunset.

Crossbuck Illimuniation

Crossbuck Illimuniation is a crackling success! Clear winner, in my humble opinion. Way to go, Ray!
