Those familiar with my slide shows know that I have been seeking out
"funny slides" to break up long presentations. Some non fan family have found
this a reason to stick around even though they have little interest in trains.
This "oddity contest" is a great outlet for this side of train chasing.

Next is a scene gone now. Klamath Falls, OR. The Sessler Scrap Co. used to have a small facility near the SP yard
with this ex OC&E cab. Interesting lettering and a bit small to read on the truck cab was"your friendly local junky"

Now, that is what you call a port-a-potty.

What's the history of the caboose ?

As best I know, this was OC&E, (Oregon California & Eastern), and
SP prior to that. I asked a fan in K Falls if they had any more on it,
will post if I find out more.

Thanks for the info. I don't know if it was ex-SP as I don't think I ever saw an SP caboose that wasn't a bay window. But then, I have lived all my life with a 500 mile or so radius of Kansas City and didn't really live in SP country until 1980 when the "Cotton Rock" came along...

SP had some standard cupola cabs. Here are two, one woody at the museum in Parris,CA.
and an in service metal at Albany, OR, 10-86.

Is that a West Coast B61 Mack I see in the second picture? Been a long time since I seen one of them.

The SP steel sided caboose reminds me of the ones you would get in your old Lionel sets from years back. Never seen one lettered like that. Now I can do up my old Lionel cabooses like that one.
