Model Railroading > Power to pull that new UP caboose

Did this one last year. Both the caboose and "patches" were clubmember gifts to our club's President, the only full club member and UP fan on our SP based layout (except for my 4 year old son, who Pres as corrupted).

I love it. I recently went through the car roster on my Santa Fe, which contains around 1000 cars, and identified around 100 or so UP cars (not counting fallen flags). I took two of the Genesis boxcars and patched them for a non-existent regional line that I model on my Santa Fe in Oklahoma. The UP logo was painted out, and the ON for Oklahoma Northern replaced the reporting marks. Think I might do the same with the remaining cars and just not allow anything lettered UP on the layout.

Good idea. They're may be a lawyer in the employee of UP that is right not dreaming up away to charge modelers royalties based on the number of scale miles each car is operated per year, retroactively.
