Hi

Was that photo taken from the grade crossing at the west end of North Platte ? (Birdwood i think it is called) the time zone sign looks familiar.

I have parked there and railfanned before on a trip to the US in Sept 2002.
Are UP still tolerant of railfans there (as long as you keep well away from the tracks ?) I was planning to return there in May you see.
Last time a UP MofW employee kindly gave me a colour Bailey Yard guide....

Yes it is......North Platte west.........had no problems at all...even after 9/11.......parked away from the line but the crews there know the railfans ...
