Steam & Excursion > Structures & Steam in New EnglandDate: 11/18/08 16:13 Structures & Steam in New England Author: johnacraft First, three from the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum:
1. As dawn approaches, the day begins. Structures galore in Sheepscot - the (reproduction) oil house at left, the (original WW&F) section house in the background, and the (reproduction) water tank at right. 2. The morning train to Wiscasset has stopped at Alna Center to load LCL. 3. The evening train to Albion returns through Alna Center, where more shipments await. Your work is Fantastic. Loved the stuff you did last time as well: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?10,1528357,1528361#1528361 Few photos on Trainorders stick in memory for me, but yours do... Date: 11/18/08 16:46 Re: Structures & Steam in New England Author: trainrider47 Great series of shots. Night rules!
Michael Allen Date: 11/18/08 16:55 Re: Structures & Steam in New England Author: Mgoldman Photos apart from the rest - well, some of the rest!
Photo number one certainly fits the scheme "structure(S)". The last photo is a gem! /Mitch Date: 11/18/08 17:17 Re: Structures & Steam in New England Author: rcall31060 The two-foot gauge photos are tops, John. Nicely done!
Bob Callahan Monticello, IN Date: 11/18/08 19:02 Re: Structures & Steam in New England Author: photobob There's one problem with your photos John they are too good to be in this contest. You had some in the last contest that were excellent and they didn't even get Honorable mention. Im not a big fan of contests mainly because photos like yours end up on the cutting room floor and most of the time semi-crap makes the final cut. Your work is outstanding and every shot you entered is a winner you know it and I know it and many others know it.
Photobob Date: 11/18/08 20:58 Re: Structures & Steam in New England Author: xtra1188w Wow! I especially like #1 and the last one, but all are great.
Con Date: 11/19/08 07:20 Re: Structures & Steam in New England Author: johnacraft You know, a feller could get a mighty big head if he believed any of what y'all are saying, but thanks.
It takes a lot of people and a lot of effort to put together images like these - without years of work laying track, building buildings, and overhauling equipment they couldn't exist. Pushing the shutter button might be the easiest part of the job. There are more at http://steamspecials.com/events/2008-octobe/ - and if you haven't signed up for the trips, make sure you do.
