Steam & Excursion > Tender oddityDate: 01/28/04 11:05 Tender oddity Author: johncarr Well I didn't win the oddity contest last week with the Hoover draft starter, so I will try again. Engine 17 is a multi-function locomotive. The fireman is checking the week sprayer tank on top of the tender. Notice the spray nozzles just below the uncoupling bar at the rear of the tender. As the train moves down the track, these nozzles spray a weed killer along the right-of-way. The engine is shoving a covered hopper onto the interchange track with the Missouri Pacific on July 11, 1980 in the little town of Marion, IL.

I have pictures of it sitting in Dupo, Il getting prepped for the move to Boone, Ia. Unfortunately my scanner has shot craps on me Thanks XP
