Fall Colors in a few places

Essex, Montana in October of 2004. Oddly enough, the early October snows didn't translate into a snowy winter last year, and there was actually more snow on the ground in October than December.

Red Eagle, Montana in October of 2001. This was just about a month after 9/11, airfares were dirt cheap and airports were nearly empty.

Miyaji, Kyushu, Japan in November 2001. Again taking advantage of cheap post-9/11 airfares, my wife and I flew to Japan to visit friends and take a trip to the natural mineral water onsens on Kyushu. And of course, to visit "Aso Boy", JR's narrow gauge steam operation to Mt. Aso's somewhat active caldera. Sadly, "Aso Boy" made his last run in August 2005, as JR was having difficulty obtaining spare parts.

Nice set of photos Paul. Post some more of Japan when you get a chance.
